PROJET
TERMINÉ
We live in a diverse World with unfortunately many inequalities through gender, race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation or age. We need reflective youth leaders who have the skills and knowledge to see and fight this inequality. LEAD III is a training course for leadership development with a special focus on gender and cultural diversity. How do I lead? What skills, values and attitudes help me to be a reflective leader in this diverse world. LEAD III is planned as a learning and development journey, where you look at your own leadership style, values and attitudes and share experiences where inequalities in your home setting are blocking development and mobility. Through new knowledge and active learning methods the participants will take home new experiences and ideas on how to face their leadership challenges at home – at regional and national level. Bringing together participants from different countries will also build a network, which participants can continue to use for exchange once they are back home.
Special focus will be on diversity linked to Gender and cultural background(s) and social cohesion. At LEAD III we will discuss how we can provide space for everybody. How can we overcome barriers and be inclusive?
It is a major focus of each organisation to work on issues of social exclusion and to come up with solutions to bring about a more inclusive society. They see this training as a way to question their own leadership abilities and to undergo a process of self-development that in turn they will share with the young people they work with. The 6 day course will include in this overarching theme values and attitudes, culture and minorities. In workshops the special focus will also be on gender and cultural background(s) and developing leadership skills to increase the mobility of their unemployed / socially excluded young people. Workshops serve the aim of providing concrete tools to the participants they can apply back home.
There will be a learner centred approach to the training with participants undertaking some pre-course tasks and they will also have input into the shape of the training course. This educational learning programme will contribute to the process of non formal learning as the facilitators will use a participative-learning by doing approach. A range of methods and activities will be used which will enable participants to share experiences and take part in group discussions as well as plenary sessions. Methods used will include icebreakers and energisers, outdoor activities, role plays, story telling and case studies with creativity being encouraged. A key part of the course will be reflective practice and participants will use a learning log and ultimately make action plans as to how they will use the knowledge, skills and competences gained back in their own environment which will result in higher quality practice in youth work.
The venue will be Chateau Hébert in Dinard (35), duration of 7 days, in France. We expect 19 participants.
The countries involved will be Hungary, Romania, Netherlands, Italy, Estonia, France, Austria, Ireland and Slovenia.
