LEA PROJECT, follow-up project

The objective is to develop the expertise of university students to correspond to the needs of the areas business life and to make business lifes concrete links with Russia business life closer.The LEA project is a development pilot project planned by Helsinki Universitys adult education centre and department ot translation science in collaboration with LTKK (Lappeenranta University of Technology) and Joensuu Universitys department of international communication at Savonlinna to create a model for developing university teaching and business life links. The LEA project provides students at Helsinki Universitys Department of translation science and the Department of communication at Savonlinna and the areas entrepreneurs with expertise in neighbouring area projects with Russia and a training programme in business science, and job practice opportunities for the aforesaid student group. An essential part of the project is supported job practice for students of Russian at the Department of translation science at Kouvola and the Department of communication at Savonlinna in Southeast Finnish companies (and in the associated areas of Pojat-Hame, and East Uusimaa).The core of the project is the regional specialisation programme of the Neighbouring area project (25 study weeks). The specialisation programmes modules are also supplied and marketed to Southeast Finnish companies. Training is implemented in Kouvola, and some sections in Lappeenranta and Savonlinna, too.
