The Walloon border regions and the French Ardennes are characterised by «traditional» industrial sectors in need of economic transformation. New activities, such as plastics, contribute to the diversification of theindustrial base. Another common point for both areas is the predominance of agriculture and the availability of agro-industrial resources*. The AGROCALAGE project is to be seen in this context.The main purpose of the project is to develop fill packaging solutions from agro-resource materials and to promote products and co-products from locally grown crops, develop packaging materials from agro-resourcematerials, and new and innovating activities in the added value sector of plastics recycling. The idea is also to put in place partnerships at various levels (producers, processors, users, ...).*Agro-resources are all raw materials from agriculture, regardless of destination.
