PROJET
TERMINÉ
Liepaja Secondary School No. 15 with its 885 students, 71 teachers, has been trying to adapt to the occurring globalization and its impact on the development of social problems. We have launched an online learning program for students who have moved to live outside Liepaja and Latvia. We have tried to identify and support pupils whose parents have gone to work abroad.
Eight education programs have been implemented in Liepaja Secondary School No 15, including " Special education program for students with learning disabilities " and " Special education program for students with mental disabilities ." Although the the differentiated approach has been implemented in the learning process, there is an urgent necessity to create a unified whole school support system for all pupils . Therefore, the aim of this project is to learn from the gained experience of particular European Union member states in the field of inclusive education, in order to manage systemic realignment in Liepaja Secondary School No.15 to promote an individual growth of each pupil. There are several factors that have encouraged us to create a new - tailored learning approach : the current system is operating effectively in relation to the statistical average students. It is less effective for pupils with behavioral , social exclusion risk or health problems , as well as for gifted students, students with communication problems and for students with no family support , etc.
We wish to promote a creating of a common framework of support system for all pupils, in order to achieve, as well as to learn and implement new teaching strategy. The school already has particular experience participating in EU programs. However, we wish to develop common framework of support system within Erasmus Plus program, in order to approach each pupil's individual growth through learning about successful experience in this field of other EU countries. We are planning a staff training in mobility to four European Union countries: 7 staff-experts of Liepaja Secondary School No.15 will attend seminars.
Principal - G.Ročāns will go to the Forum Eltern und Schule seminar " Inklusion in Italien - Schule in Tirol "; Special Education teacher I.Stepko will participate in the Forum Eltern und Schule seminar in Jyväskylä , Finland " Multiprofessionelle im Netzwerk finnischen Schulsystem "; Assistant Principal A.Šēna will go to Sweden, Helsingborg Forum Eltern und Schule seminar " Individualisiertes Lernen in schwedischen Schulen " ; The teacher of the English language and APU ( positive behavior support ) team leader A.Bēta will go to Sweden, Helsingborg Forum Eltern und Schule seminar " Individualisiertes Lernen in schwedischen Schulen " ; Assistant Principal, speech therapist and special educator J.Jansone will go to Denmark, Copenhagen to participate in seminar " INCLUSIVE TEACHING AND TRAINING Building an inclusive practice through sharing of knowledge and reflection among teachers , trainers , psychologists and management "; teacher of Science Līga Lasmane will go to Sweden, Linkoping to participate in seminar "Outdoor Education - Teaching Math , Science and Art"; IT teacher S.Šlisere will go to Finland, Helsinki to participate in seminar "Ansprüche und Praxis der Förderung in finnischen Schulen".
The project participants will develop their individual plan of project activities, write press releases, promote and implement the acquired competencies, integrate the gained skills and knowledge in the learning process, participate in creating school guidance principles for the future, realize methodological support and necessary recommendations for colleagues, present new findings, demonstrate the open lessons, organize after class activities for students , participate in informational meetings, held in Liepaja Secondary School No.15 premises once a month during the implementation of the project.
Project participant G. Ročāns will present his experience gained in the seminar in March 2012 in Helsinki, Finland "Claim und Praxis der Förderung in finnischen Schulen".
The knowledge and the professional competence of project participants will be improved in the result of this project, as well as the main target of the project - the ability to create an inclusive environment for each student, will be reached .
