La vita è bella, but not for everyone!
Date du début: 1 août 2015, Date de fin: 31 juil. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

“La vita è bella, but not for everyone” is an inclusion, integration and equal opportunities, intercultural, international and artistic project as it involves young people with and without disabilities and with fewer opportunities, from different countries and with different backgrounds, who are interested in performing arts and theatre. The main aim of this Project is not only to give people with disabilities access to art and culture, but to actively involve them and let them participate together with other young people without disabilities to a creative process, giving the opportunity to become protagonist of the artistic product. Finally, the project aims at developing tolerance towards other cultures, languages and individuals as we will create a bridge between young people belonging to distant cultures. Exploring north and south Europe, we will establish a relationship that can go beyond words. Thanks to the theatre practice, the participants will be able to communicate and speak through body movements and we will find our common language. The two mixed groups include 24 young peple (aged 18-30) with and without disabilities and with fewer opportunities, who are interested in theatre and performance. Mental and phsycal disabilities are not a limit to join the project and participants with such disabilities will be supported by an Interpreter and special tutors who will make the trips and the whole experience easier. Participants will be selected through motivational interview and after participation to a preliminary experience preceding the exchange. We plan to organize an exchange with two main meetings (Dresden, Germany and Catania, Italy) and one staff meeting: Catania, Italy. In Germany, the meeting focuses on the acquaintance of the the participants belonging to both groups through games, theatre workshops based on Theatre Pedagogy, non formal education NFE and improvisation techniques. Furthermore small excursions around Dresden, city guide tour and culinary experiences will be organized. The artistic objective is the exchange of ideas between staff and participants of both groups relevant for the choice of a main theme useful for the production of the theatre piece. Participants will actively propose and choose their own roles and small groups will be created in order to achieve a rough structure of the piece. In Italy, participants will be first introduced to italian culture through small trips around the area, culinary experiences and city guide tours. These experiences will contribute to a better understanding of the culture and will be also useful to develop creativity and inspire interesting ideas for the piece. The duration of the theatre workshops will be longer to ensure enough time to finalize the artistic project, realized by the common work of all participants who will collaborate on obtaining a good result and an artistic project ready to be presented to a public audience. Games and other playful activities will be organized in order to let both groups know each other. Theatre workshops are led by professional theater educators, who supported by an interpreter, will show their methods and exchange their expertise in order to find a common path for the realization of the theater piece. Both groups will be introduced to theatre, using the non formal education (NFE) method and Improvisation techniques in theatre practice will be used in order to identify participants roles for the whole piece. This project will explore the impact that such international and inclusion projects can have on participants with and without disabilities coming from different cultures but having same interests and aiming at a common creative product. The participants' aim is in fact the development of a theater performance suitable for a public audience. The creation of an international theater group, promotes the European concept of peaceful coexistence through integration and inclusion. The long-lasting friendship between the two groups will eventually become part of a long-term cooperation.
