La nature est notre force / Nature Is Our Strength
Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

« Nature is our strength” is a partnership created at least three years ago between three schools: Collège André Malraux in Granville (France), the Gimnazjum im. Janusza Korczaka in Chojna ( Poland) and Muusap Atuarfia School in the village of Saattut - Uummannaq in Greenland. The aim of this cooperation is to think collectively about the necessity to give more importance to nature and the environment in our lessons, with a view to promote sustainable development. To learn from the confrontation with nature - wild or domesticated -, to get to know and respect its diversity, to learn how to find our place as responsible citizens in a world that often harms it: this is about opening our schools to different observations, collected in our immediate surroundings as well as with our partners, to better understand the types of energy to preserve and/or develop and the balances to strike. With the help of young people who often construct their identities via multiple screens, the teachers and the other participants involved in this project are eager to conduct practical work in which project-based learning and sensory experience will be central (science and humanities teams, presentations of jobs in sustainable development). While the new technologies will play a key role when it comes to exchanging and sharing, the project seeks primarily to re-connect on a daily basis people to practical reality on the issue of living together over time. It is about stimulating people’s curiosity and coming up with answers for each site, based on its similarities to and/or differences from its European equivalents and the rest of the world. This in turn will lead to collective achievements by the three partners: discussions as well as the public impact of the different projects will require frequent linguistic exchanges and working around native and foreign languages will be paramount. To forge a strong connection between today’s young people, their teaching personnel and their peers as well as the biosphere in order to build a better tomorrow, such is our goal.
