La découverte du milieu agricole en Espagne

Located near Laval, in the department of Sarthe, the MFR offers training in the field of agricultural livestock and rural services. Our project, entitled "The discovery of the spanish agricultural world", aims to offer an internship in Spain for 25 students Bac Pro Operation and Management of Agricultural Holdings. The project objectives were defined following the analysis of the MFR’s needs and thus of the territory and students (capacity to step back, curiosity, mobility and open-mindedness). For young people, the objectives are the professional and personal openness and cultural awareness: to develop the ability to look for information, to expand their knowledge of production systems, to practice their skills and to become a European citizen and an adult accomplished. To MFR and its team, the project objectives are to strengthen ties with professionals, to learn throughout life and to develop another relationship with young people. They all aim to promote the openness and mobility of the MFR. For the project to meet objectives, we want to work on several points: the involvement and preparation of students, the involvement of the whole MFR’s team and the quality of training structures. We engage pupils in the creation of the project to make this project their own. We conducted questionnaires on their expectations and talked with them about their professional and cultural desires. Students will be involved in the project design: logistics, contacts with partners etc. Finally, we will involve them to broadcast their experiences in their own words and their own feelings. This project will have impacts on students, the MFR and Spanish partners. For students, this experience will allow them to be curious, to become aware of the impact of environmental traditions and context on the farming profession and to be able to use new tools. In the long term, they will want to travel, to discover new things and will become aware of their rights and duties as a European citizen. For monitors, the impacts will increase their professional knowledge, their understanding of pupils and the MFR recognition in the territory with the prospect of new projects. Since our first visit to Spain in 2014, during an educational trip, we are in touch with EFA, sister of the French MFR and internship farmer’s masters. These institutions are participating in our project for several reasons: to discover French culture, to discuss the agricultural world and training needs and why not, in the long run, organize the arrival of the Spanish in France.
