The EPLEFPA (Etablissement Public Local d’Enseignement et de Formation Professionnelle Agricole de Loir et Cher- Local Public Establishment of teaching and Professional and Agricultural courses of the Loir et Cher county of France) is a state- run educational institution under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture.Its skills are acknowledged in the fields of the environment, biotechnology, laboratory practice, breeding, horticulture and landscape management.In keeping with the priorities on the Ministry of Agriculture and the Regional Council of the Centre Region of France, development of international relations is a major objective of the institution’s policy. Since 2007, the institution has fostered a solid European culture by taking part in ERASMUS, LEONARDO and European Project for Youth in Action programmes.The institution is keen to pursue its internationalisation policy by developing European mobility programs for its staff, by increased sharing of effective practices amongst partners in the world of teaching (management, monitoring of performances, theory of teaching and innovative ideas), whilst continuing to foster ties with the world of business.The choice of partners (institutions and companies) is made in accordance with mutual priorities, objectives, skills and expertise.Through these three objectives,priority is given to develop staff skills,extending the vocational element of our courses,reinforcing our links with European partners and developing a network of partner companies in Europe.It is essential that all of the above actions are beneficial to participants (reinforcing their professional and language skills, facilitating access of our staff to the job market) to our institution (by developing its skills and expertise, renown and enhancing its European identity)and in due course benefitting learners themselves.The entire project should also further the development of European citizenship. The main aim is to enable our students to leave school with qualifications, to gain autonomy and develop European citizenship. International cooperation programmes are a great vector to achieve this.This project should enable us to spark off new life into our European language class and increase the number of students who carry out their internship abroad.So there will be 11 members of staff who will take part in this project, namely in Finland, in order to study the Finnish education system, and in doing so, apply knowledge to improve organisation of our school day and thus enhance our pupil's success , Likewise, another objective is to develop language skills which will result in improving self confidence in speaking English)for both students in the European class and any student or members of staff who have applied for a period of mobility abroad. This will enable objectives in our mission of international cooperation to be reached effectively.In FinlandTwo senior members of the school management team,(one for each high school as we have a multi- site school) Two members of staff who deal with students’ welfare and discipline in the schools, one from each site, The manager of the school's educational farm, A school librarian in charge of educational resources A teacher specialised in town and country planning (countryside management ) A maintainence agent . The mobility periods are scheduled in two stages with the first one being in June 2017 and the second one in May 2018. In the UKTwo teachers of general subjects, Biology and History and Geography, will attend an intensive CLIL course and gain skills and knowledge which will enable them to teach their subjects in English in the European class. In SpainA teaching assistant will perfect his/ her Spanish language skills so as to be able to provide help and support to boarding school students in their study periods, and also to help them write their CVs and covering letters .All of this will be made possible by staff commitment to both this project and future ones.The various types of mobility programmes will be given recognition through the Europass CV, the European language passport or accreditation procedures which take into account knowledge and experience acquired.Broadly speaking, the results will be communicated on both on an internal and external level. In order to successfully implement these mobility programmes, the institution has armed itself with :a project of European development and a language policy, monitoring of projects and targets ,a fully comprehensive support system, with specialist tutoring from beginning to end for staff who apply for mobility programmes.a project assessment policy aimed to measure its short, medium and long term impact in terms of quality and quantity, both on an individual and institution level.
