Date du début: 1 sept. 2014, Date de fin: 31 août 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This Jean Monnet Chair on "The EU's role in fighting economic crime" aims at strengthening EU criminal law studies at Sciences-Po Aix-en-Provence. New courses will be created and complement the existing courses about the fight against corruption and money laundering. The scope of the courses will be broadened, thus encompassing other offences such as tax fraud and trafficking -of drugs and human beings-.A specific emphasis will be laid on the fight against such economic offences in the EU's external relations. The EU fosters cooperation with partner countries in criminal law, both withtin the accession process and in the framework of the European Neighbouring Policy benefitting countries which haven't been granted an accession prospect. The target groups include Sciences-Po students -2nd year, Master I & II-, professionals undergoing training -civil servants, French military personnel, lawyers. Events will be organised -2 seminars and a multidisciplinary conference- and be open to students from the Law Faculty and the general public. The chair will foster cooperation with partner organisations such as Asser Insitute, ERA, IACA, the Polish association of European Criminal Law.The impact of the chair will consist in enhanced knowledge of the EU for the target groups, thanks to in-depth and up-to-date teaching. It will also consist in improved cooperation between Sciences-Po and partner institutions, as well as networking at specialized conferences. The chair will also support research activities. I plan to publish three peer-reviewed articles during the implementation period -"The legal framework of the fight against money laundering", "The framework of the fight against corruption", "Towards the creation of an EPPO" and one collective book. The assesment of the achievement of the work programme will comprise assesments of the students' work -through written or oral examinations- and questionnaires about courses to be filled by the students.
