Academy of Young European 2 is a project in the field of informal education that is filling the gap in the access to the knowledge on the processes of European integration among the high school pupils in small towns and villages. The knowledge provided to young people from underdeveloped areas will increase their chances for entering into adult life as well prepared as their peers in large cities. Open form, innovative teaching methods and up to date knowledge are the key elements for successful reaching to our target group of young people and teachers from secondary schools in underdeveloped regions. Primary aims:Increasing the knowledge on and awareness of European integration among at least 800 high school pupils Project activities:• Preparation of webinars or an on-line course• Lectures in selected high schools in Poland• Development of mobile application• Preparation of a teacher’s handbook (printed version and e-book)• Promotion of European Studies and European Integration among high school pupils during the open days of the Warsaw School of Economics.Long term results of the project:• Development of new methods, content and tools related to selected topics in the field of EU studies• Development of an Internet platform specifically devoted to European Studies• Increasing attractiveness of teaching the European integration through innovative didactic tools and higher level of teaching• Designing, building and implementation of self-teaching tool for strengthening of active pro-European attitudes• Increasing interest in European Studies• Preparation and distribution of teaching materials on European Union for high school education• Improving the knowledge and qualifications of teachers in the field of European Union• In partnership with a teachers training institution, initiation of EU promoting activities directed at high school pupils.
