Kylältä maailmalle - Veikkolan koulu kansainväliselle 2010-luvulle
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Context and objectives of our project The context of the project includes the intercultural education where the new ICT is utilised and the different learners are taken into account. We want to update our knowledge in these three fields, get international contacts and create permanent operations models for our school. Number and profile of participants and description of activities The applicants represent the diversity of our school´s staff: teachers of both lower and higher grades, classroom and subject teachers, language teachers as well as teachers of theoretical subjects and art are all well represented. Our six applicants are all in different phases of their professional careers, hence the continuity of acquired expertise will be ensured. The activities include three ICT courses for language teachers, one language and one music course in Great Britain, a job shadowing period in Italy and a course on social studies with an international and comparetive perspective. Methodology to be used in carrying out the project We want to learn new perspectives to our work from the courses, job shadowing partners and other teachers. We want to examine our methods in the international context. In addition we want to emphasise the student-centred learning in our activities and the possibility for the pupils with lower grades to take part, too. We will include the international perspective, keeping international contacts, for instance by eTwinning, and the use of ICT into the teaching of the teachers who will attend the before mentioned courses. Furthermore the thus acquired facilities and skills will enable them to provide also the other teachers with new conventions. A short description of the results and impact envisaged and finally the potential longer term benefits The aim is to open up our pupils´ world view and increase the understanding of the phenomena, such as cultural differences and similarities for instance, outside of their personal home grounds. Our activities will increase the selfconfidence of the less well performing pupils, too, and give positive learning experiences which both two factors will strengthen their motivation and willingness to study. The collaboration among staff will increase and thus provide the basis for more interactivity between different school subjects. The schooling enchances our school´s team spirit and will cause our pupils to be increasingly proud of our school. In our activities we will make use of ICT in order to update our school into 2010s.
