Aims proposed for implementation in the project: 1. professional training of students and teachers and improvement of competences in their specialities; 2. familiarisation with the effective application of systems of the EU and world standards and operation of quality management systems in educational institutions and companies; 3. improvement of foreign language fluency and communication. We believe that the proposed goals and the estimated result were achieved. The opportunity was provided to 29 students of professional secondary education programmes from the Mechanics and Technology College of Olaine to add to both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are directly related to the profession they are mastering. Assistant biotechnologists and analytical chemistry technicians worked practically in the modernised laboratories of Schulzentrum des Sekundarbereichs II Utbremen while the chemical and biochemical equipment technicians improved their practical skills in bfw Unternehmen für Bildung Geschäftsstelle Bremen/Bremerhaven. During their practice, the students improved their English fluency and started applying German in practice as well. Four teachers of professional subjects went to supplement their theoretical knowledge and practical skills as well. The teachers had the opportunity to take part in classes, laboratory work, monitor the course of qualification exams at the host partners. The positive experience gained by teachers is already being applied in mentoring classes and laboratory work in the Mechanics and Technology College of Olaine. Knowledge of students and teachers was assessed by the respective host partner. Both Europass Mobility Certificates and National Certificates were issued. Information about the knowledge and skills gained by the students was also delivered to the placing organisation that was responsible for issuing the Europass Mobility Certificates.
