As a primary school teacher and consultant for English I`d like to participate in a week-long Immersion Course in Scotland for Teachers of English. The course provider is LFEE Europe in collaboration with Confluence Scotland. This partnership has produced a successful team of experienced and fully qualified native speaker teachers. The venue is Edinburgh, capital of Scotland, a UNESCO World Heritage City. The course includes information on the different UK education systems and also on Scotland’s culture and history. The training sessions are delivered in English. Participants will be encouraged to speak English as much as possible in social situations and on the cultural excursions. These are the aims of the course: - To update participants’ competence and discursive skills in English - To enhance methodological expertise in the teaching of English - To update vocabulary, consolidate and gain new ideas and materials for use in the classroom - To use internet and other ICT resources in class - To use published, authentic and audio-visual material in class - To develop cultural awareness and understanding of contemporary Britain - To share experience and ideas with colleagues from other European regions The formation of a Europe wide network of English teachers is intended on the long run.
