Project "Vocational training in Austria" is addressed to vocational teachers of Zespol Szkol Elektronicznych i Informatycznych (ZSEiI) (IT technical school) who possess rich knowledge in methods and forms of vocational training. Their desire is to develop professionally and get better knowledge of new methods in vocational training in European system of education. Participation of 12 vocational teachers and teachers of foreign languages (English and German) is scheduled. Subjects taught in our school: ITs, mechatronics, electronics, economists, vehicle technicians. As a part of the project teachers will visit particular technical schools in Austria. Austrian school educating technicians and workers in different occupations have long tradition and are highly valued at the European vocational education market. Participants of the project will have opportunity to visit particular technical schools to watch practical (lab) classes and exchange experiences in their disciplines with other teachers. Teachers will learn new ways of joining general education with theory and apprenticeship. They will learn about teaching focused on knowledge, competence and skills, as well as how to administrate quality in Austrian Vocational education. Participants of the project will also learn about Austrian system of education during their visit in the Institute of ‘Kultur and Sprache’ – which belongs to the Government’s structures. Thanks to the implementation of the project vocational teachers will be able to improve their qualifications. Project will contribute to establish new relationships on vocational basis as well as exchange of ideas among teachers of profession. Due to the experience and knowledge of school management about the process of education in different European countries – long term strategy of mutual visits (teachers and in the future students) is planned. Also, in future we would like to create a catalog of vocational skills acquired by teachers of ZSEiI in the process of the project. Carrying out of the project will also influence the efficacy of the quality of school work as well as attractiveness on educational market. This project will give possibility to discuss problems schools in Austria and Poland are facing nowadays.
