Project "Creativity in teaching and learning using ICT: Digital School in Piekoszów" concerned participation of 4 teachers of Primary School in Piekoszów in the training organized by the training center “Cervantes”, in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain. The training, according to modern education requirements and current recommendations for work made by the Board of Education, not only provided theoretical knowledge, but also practical ideas how to implement innovative ways of using ICT in the teaching process. It improved the quality of work in the school. The teachers got familiar with the use of modern technologies in their daily work in the classroom in a practical and realistic way. The course was designed for teachers of any subjects. The aim of the course was to enable participants to make efficient use of ICT tools of Web 2.0, social networks, blogs, websites for educational purposes and increase the range of interdisciplinary teaching and learning through implementing the idea of "Digital School". Teachers met in an international group to exchange ideas; they compared different methods and tools, created partnerships, introduced new ideas into the curriculum. The project aimed to: - provide general information about ICT within various classes,- define ICT usage in education with its benefits, - provide teachers with practical ideas for howthey can incorporate technology into their existing lessons,- familiarize teachers with current Web 2.0 and Internet trends,- give a space for exchange of experiences and good practices among people coming from different countries who work in the same field- bring higher motivation to work on the task by working in small groups;- develope actively and constructively students’ involvement in the work at class;- encourage students to take the ownership of their own learning;- improve teamwork skills through the use of ICT;- exchange experiences in cooperative and collaborative learning process as long as in creativity and innovation;- share best practice in teaching and learning, using ICT;- increase the staff competence in foreign languages. Since returning from the course, teachers continue work in a school project team and in cooperation with the school headmaster, they are responsible for the implementation of the acquired knowledge and skills in the school environment. Activities related to the project (school blog and multi-partner project) were implemented in the current School Working Plan. The school staff was trained with the project tools, and the school has implemented new ways of working in European dimension. Effects of the training have permanently improved the quality of school work. Teachers and students became more motivated to work. The school is a good example for others in the region, as the one which is taking advantages of EU programmes and implementing innovative methods in its work.
