Date du début: 31 déc. 2014, Date de fin: 30 déc. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Copernicus High School consists of two schools: lower secondary school (13-16 years old students ) and upper secondary school ( 16-19 years old). Teachers of the school are well - educated, the school is located in the city centre and is well- equipped. It has almost one hundred years old tradition of teaching science and languages. Students score high in external examinations. However, the school learning environment is the reflection of the educational situation in Poland. There are fewer and fewer children willing to attend the school every year, the teachers are losing their enthusiasm, there are more and more behavioural problems among students, students are getting discouraged easily and they are becoming uninterested in learning and active participation as citizens. The project entitled “Copernicus High – a school open to change” aims at developing teachers competence in several spheres: school management, subject teaching, using ICT, the knowledge of foreign languages. The main aim is changing people’s attitudes, making them ready to use innovative materials and resources, implement transversal and intercultural elements and include European dimension in school everyday teaching practice. All these will be achieved by teachers participation in various forms of teacher training , it is job shadowing, teaching assignment, courses and workshops. As a result teachers will design new teaching materials, will share their knowledge and experience in Poland and abroad. They will start using intercultural and transversal element more often , they will use basic English vocabulary in their subjects. They will change as individuals and professionals. More than 20 teachers ( it is more 40 percent of teaching staff) will be engaged in the project. All the changes will have long-lasting effects on the school as an institution. Copernicus High School will teach and educate young Europeans, active, enthusiastic and self-confident.
