The project "Competent English Teacher of the 21st Century" is addressed to the English teachers at Secondary Schools Unit No. 3 in Siedlce. Duration of the project - 06.01.2016 - 31.05.2018. The project involves participation of four English teachers in training courses abroad, in the UK, Spain and Ireland. The aim of the project is to develop skills and acquire knowledge on the use of IT tools in the process of vocational and general education of young people. The project involves: use of Google tools in classroom; use of Free Web 2.0 applications such as Prezi, Voki and others in classroom, use of Moodle in classroom, supporting development of pedagogical practices related to ICT, podcasting, vodcasting and other audiovisual media in classroom, creating multimedia pedagogical projects, supporting projects through technology multimedia production and acquired ICT skills, developing standards of good practice, encouraging exchange of points of view, enabling participants to share experiences, exploring the culture of the course participants as well as the local culture, promoting the participants' own region and school abroad, improving language skills and competence as well as interpersonal skills. The project participants will take part in training courses, workshops, seminars, open discussions in order to gain ready ideas and strategies to use in the classroom with students. The carefully selected training courses are aimed at continual development of the teachers, so that they can meet the challenges posed by the modern education system. The courses will contribute to the goals contained in the European School Development Plan, i.e. constant development of the school by improving the teaching staff competence, which has a measurable impact on the quality of educational services offered by the school. The long-term benefit of the mobilities for the school will be increased competitiveness and number of potential students attracted by the school offer.
