Current educational system, together with every young developing person, faces high requirements and challenges, which stems from a social and economic environment of today’s world. Educating and motivating children these days is becoming more demanding, and the rapidly changing, new opportunities opening world requires creative, free, socially active and responsible individuals. In order to meet high educational standards the school needs not only qualified and skilled, but also active, creative and motivated teachers, who are able to build the environment suitable for every child’s self-exploration and growth, who are able to use new methods and organize learning process so that it opens the immense possibilities of every child’s talents and transforms them into new creative competences.Vilnius Waldorf School aims to achieve high educational standards, which would meet our society’s needs and EC educational standards, helping every child to meet their individual needs in order to achieve their full potential, thus upon graduating the school every individual would grow into free and creative person, finding the right place in one’s personal and professional lives, as well as becoming active worldly citizens of our society.The aim of this project correlates perfectly with the core goals of our school:1. Being active and participating in international qualification courses, in order to comprehend new and effective ways of teaching.2. Deepening the knowledge and grasping the implementation possibilities of Portfolio - teaching and assessing method, by observing school which is experienced in this field. 3. Cooperating and collaborating with colleagues internationally to gain cross-cultural experience.The project involves three mobility programmes: one job shadowing visit to a partner school in Germany and two teacher qualification courses in Kassel (Germany). The main mobility programme topic running through all three parts of the project are innovative learning and teaching methods as well as implementation of Portfolio as teaching and assessing method. The courses were chosen in consideration of wide range international participants and experienced, professional lecturers, and the partner organization has valuable experience successfully using Portfolio as teaching and assessing tool for several years.16 teachers from Vilnius Waldorf school will attend these courses. They will be selected through special selection procedure considering their needs, experience and relevance of subject. The participants will acquire both specific professional as well as general education process oriented skills. They will share gained knowledge among colleagues, apply recommendations to improve school’s education programme as well as directly apply their knowledge in everyday teaching. The implementation of the Project will be ensured by nominating project implementation team – administrative and teaching staff if needed. The team will organize the mobility programme and ensure quality communication and collaboration with partner school as well as assure quality of pedagogical content and results within the project.The main beneficiary of the project is Vilnius Waldorf school and its pedagogical staff. The main outcomes of the project are following:- increased competences of educational staff;- acquired new knowledge and skills to be directly applied in the everyday teaching process, - the best practices of foreign countries as well as information on innovative effective teaching, motivation, evaluation methods and tools is gained;- improved Upper Schools learning quality and outcomes.All these outcomes provide longterm impact on the higher education quality in the school, and has a positive effect on Lithuanian and European educational system. The close and intensive communication and cooperation with all parties of interest (pupils, their parents, other educational institutions and Waldorf community) by informing and sharing the gained experience and results of the project over electronic communication tools, meetings, discussion rounds, presentations, common practical work as well as specific projects with pupils.
