The antecedents of the project: The participating museums are plannig to realize their important assignments together for the first time, having reconciled their aims. They are ready to build up the conditions for a long- term cooperation.The present state and the task to be solved:There is no partner cooperation between the museum of strategical importance ( from professional viewpoint, as they collect and present the objects of the common historical and cultural heritage of this region).This represents a serious obstacle not only from the point of view of the compatitive power of the museums but even from the viewpoint of the possibilities of the cultural improvement of the region as well. The partner organisations of the project would like to exploit the sources offered in the Operative Program as a specific possibility to eliminate this basic problem.Activities planned to solve the problems:Partner meetings aiming to build connections, study visitations in order to excavate and present the common history and culture of the region, conferencies, cross-border swapping exhibitions, issuing of publications, museum educational activities, workshopsThe planned effects of the project: - a realized long-term parner cooperation ( 5 project partners and 2 associated partners from Hungary and Slovakia), the building up of the strategic conditions to improve the competitive power of the institutions- realized 6 swapping exhibitions accompanied by museum educational activities , professional conferences, common study visitations (attended by 20 300 individuals)- the improvement of cultural and social tolerance between the target groups of the project, coherence, acceptance, 20-30% improvement in comparison with the state before the realization of the project. Achievements: From a professional point of view, there is no partner cooperation between Hungarian and Slovak museums of strategical importance. This represents a serious obstacle in the improvement of the competitive power of museums and in the cultural improvement of the region as well. The aim of the project was to create and reinforce international cooperation between museums in the border region of Slovakia and Hungary by means of organizing four expositions and other accompanying events in three Hungarian and two Slovak museums (Visegrád, Esztergom, Győr, Nové Zámky, Levice) as well as their later reinstallation at the partner institutions.
