The " When I think of My Motherland " Project is an initiative of the participants of Environmental Labour Corps in Nysa .Inspired to take up the topic is one of the best preserved fortifications in Silesia systems, stretching for miles , the historic chain of Nysa's fortifications. Recent developments of modern Europe were an impulse to address the topic of defense, its purposefulness in past and present times, and also define concepts such as national identity , or patriotism - which was formerly in the face of danger and what today is ? Theme of the project engages with historical stages of development of the national identity of the Polish nation from the stage of a sense of national belonging to contemporary patriotism. The project shall also thread the birth of the Lithuanian national identity and the analysis of contemporary Lithuanian patriotic attitudes . These investigations and studies will be carried out during the implementation of the two-week historical and art workshop for 20 people with SHP in Nysa, and 20 people from the high schools of the city of Alytus. Participants of exchange gain historical knowledge empirically , through informal learning , in active forms , develop creative abilities and manual when creating national symbols, flags historical pieces of equipment and reconstruction groups . Workshop in mixed working groups in Nysa , a trip to a medieval castle in Byczyna , the Kłodzka fortress, Adit Walim, visit Osówka and learning Grodno castle , educational workshop in Zloty Stok, games and fieldwork - photographing and filming found in the buildings and the landscape of Silesia defenses will gather interesting historical material , based on the rise trilingual publication " Castles, fortresses, fortifications in the landscape for centuries ." One important element of the project is the acquisition of skills: learning to draw maps, which are an important tool in the defense of the castle of the city and the state and defense exercises in sports: fighting knights, learning to shoot from the old works of pneumatic weapons with weapons climbing and competition in order to develop physical fitness, overcoming fears and personal limitations while walking on ropes and exit Tyrol. Used in the activities the elements of education experience is varied historical research and the participants realize their strengths and weaknesses, tasting dishes prepared by the participants isolated on Polish and Lithuanian national days to demonstrate the art of cooking and make memorable impressions of youth exchange.
