The Agricultural Aviculture Cooperative of PINDOS, the largest Cooperative in Greek Aviculture, since 1958 has a constantly upward trend in the Greek and international markets, putting the bar ever higher, with the quality of its products, consumer confidence, but also the business activity. The company's objective is to develop business with the aim of exploiting renewable energy sources and other sources to produce electricity or heat, primarily for the satisfaction of its own needs. Livestock waste of the Association are huge in volume because our members are 450 partners - producers who raise chickens since 1958. The particular increasing consumption of energy from the Association and the sensitivity of Administration for the protection of the environment led to the selection of that project. The project entitled "MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR ENERGY PRODUCTION FROM BIOMASS" is a bridge program (comes after) the program that was implemented in Germany in 2014, and complements the knowledge and attitudes of a country which has great experience. The choice of the use of renewable energy is increasingly gaining ground at both European knowledge level and in our country. Specifically, the power generation by biomass which is the material which has a biological origin and contains poultry waste is a prevalent method abroad and particularly in the Netherlands. The object of the proposed project concerns the exploitation of livestock waste for energy production. This is a practice that is widespread in European Union countries, while in Greece delays persist. During the flows, the owners of poultry farms and their managers will have the opportunity to understand the ways in which waste from the poultry farms are an energy "gold mine", and have zero raw material costs and entail multiple benefits for employment and environment. Moreover, they will see processes such as anaerobic digestion, through which the poultry waste, within a few days, can produce biogas, consisting of methane and carbon dioxide and has practical applications identical to those of natural gas.The primary Objective of the proposal is to enrich and update the knowledge of participants on topics of "ENERGY PRODUCTION FROM BIOMASS" to seek answers and viable solutions to problems that concern them for a long time. The modern economic environment presents several challenges with respect to energy production. These challenges focus on:1. the knowledge for the management of waste of their units,2. The acquisition of a higher literacy and education level in order to increase the flexibility and adaptability of industry entrepreneurs to changing labor market conditions.3. the knowledge / expertise on issues of premises required for the equipment,4. To maintain the viability and effective operation of their businesses to comply with rules of the European Union for environmental management.The project will contribute to the harmonization efforts of poultry farms with new environmental standards and will follow the connection of theoretical knowledge with practical applications in order for the adults to assimilate better.The total duration of the project is 14 days and will be held in the Netherlands, with the participation of 30 beneficiaries from 10/04/2017 to 23/04/2017.Potential beneficiaries in the mobility are owners and senior executives of poultry farms. The host organisation is Stichting Avans which is a university that has connections throughout Europe and is considered one of the best higher education institutions in the country with great experience on the expertise of biogas and its interconnections with operators of the sector . As a host country the Netherlands was chosen because it has numerous livestock which apply biomass energy practices. Planned visits to companies are considered significant and will contribute substantially to the understanding of the training object.
