TERMINÉ
The Greek SMEs are currently undergoing a very critical period . The economic crisis facing both our country and Europe has wounded particularly SMEs , which are struggling in harsh conditions for their survival . This applies to a much greater extent to manufacturing enterprises . Under these circumstances, the challenge for SMEs is to change the way they operate, modernize, upgrade their knowledge and their staff, to acquire new orientation and focus on new strategies to enable them to emerge from the spiral of crisis and grow again in the future. The objective of this project is to help managers of SMEs in the manufacturing sector of Arcadia to acquire knowledge and skills in subjects that will help them to modernize and upgrade their businesses , such as modernization of production, openness and cooperation, to create competitive products and quality services, learn to use modern tools, such as e-commerce.
Participants in this project are 90 managers of manufacturing companies which are members of the Chamber of Arcadia, some of which are the entrepreneurs themselves. They are individuals that do not have any specific "business " training, beyond the practice of their activity and are in need of knowledge and skills that will help them cope more effectively with the needs of their business.
Of course , the duration of training is not enough for someone to indulge in these matters , but the purpose of this training is not to acquire all the knowledge necessary to implement respective systems , but getting to know them, discover the effectiveness of their implementation, gain the awareness of the benefits they offer to businesses and provide strong incentives for the implementation of such systems in Arcadian respective companies. Our aim is to nurture culture of education and training in entrepreneurship, awareness of the need for modernization and adaptation to modern requirements using effective business tools . Clearly, to accomplish such a goal you need further information, research and education of the participants , but we consider that this project will be the starting point and the impetus for the adoption of new business culture and strategy.
The training will take place in 6 separate flows, 2 in each country - partner. The purpose of this division is twofold : First we consider much more effective the management of small teams of professionals in order to deliver the best possible results from their participation. Secondly , each flow will be consisting of inter-related companies, as the manufacturing sector is very broad and it is natural that there are some variations therein . For this reason we have selected three different partners, given that each country and each partner has some further features and expertise so that they can offer better training in specific fields. Thus, manufacturing industries that have to do with technical work will have the best possible training in Germany , sectors related to the design and production have a lot to learn in Italy , while Spain will has a very good education system regarding sectors associated with the production and standardization of the primary sector, food and beverages . The proposed project will be implemented with the simultaneous use of the tools of theoretical training through seminars and experiential knowledge through technical visits to companies implementing effectively the methods that will be presented in the theoretical training.
The results from the implementation of this project relate both to the participants and the enterprises for which they work. The training and stay and practice in another country will be a unique experience which will provide them with new knowledge, skills and experiences. The final expected result, however, is mainly the adaptation of knowledge and practices that they will acquire to their enterprises in order to achieve the desired "turn" and " culture change" or Greek SMEs in the region. Transferring the know-how and implementing best practices, even for a small percentage of participants, will establish good practices and will be an example for other companies in the region and beyond.
Our organization expects such a plan to create such an impact that will serve as an incentive for all enterprises in the area and contribute to long-term change in the business culture of SMEs in Arcadia .
