Public Institution "Cave park Grabovača" sistematically work on protection, preservation, maintenance and promotion of nature. Involvoment of volunteers in work of the PI would mean sistematically inclusion of interested groups and individuals in activities wich public institution carried and in that way provide a better promotion, higher suport of public, what in the end will bring achivement of objectivities in the aim of protection of areas. Karst ecosystems are extremely fragile and vulnerable to pollution and without proper management and public awareness of this problem, it can lead to catastrophic environmental consequences. Therefore, the overall objective of the project K4U is to enable young people from various countries (ethnic, cultural, religious) to gain knowledge and experience in the field of environmental protection and sustainable tourism. Specific objectives: 1. To improve the quality of public institutions by integrating new methods into everyday activities and labour, creating a modern and dynamic working environment and devoloping the european cooperation. 2. Contribution to the development of non-profit projects, active participation, and connecting the people in shared activities for the benefit of the local community. 3. Enable volunteers to acquire new skills (communication, organizational and administrative) and knowledge through learning in teamwork and the development of social and environmental awareness. Project Karst4U: Discover Undiscovered, involves 10 young people age group between 18-30 years. To cover a greater range of activities the project consists from two components. The first component is the inclusion of volunteers in various activities such as: work on the cleaning the environment , helping local residents in daily life activities, marketing activities, school camp "GRABOVAČA 2015," beginner's language course for local kids,helping in the field research. The second component is the educational part that will allow volunteers to participate in short workshops about karst, caving, tourism in protected areas and environmental protection, education about medicinal herbs and first aid skills. Within this component, for the volunteers will be provided additional visit to the natural, cultural and historical sites of Lika-Senj county. In addition, volunteers will introduce local residents and employees of the National Park "Una" with programme Erasmus + and EVS. For the implementation of the project activities will be used following methods: teamwork, getting acquainted with the environment, the method of using color, communication and learning through work, methods of presentation, individualized work, show methods, sports-recreation method, methods of mapping, analysis, observations and discovery, interpretation and creative thinking, direct communication. The second component of the project in addition to the above methods will additionally used: learning methods through addressing the problem, kinesiology method, dance, demonstrations, listening and observation, learning through music, food preparation methods, brainstorming, SWOT analysis and marketing methods. With the implementation of the project K4U is expected to introduce volunteers with Croatia and region Lika, the basic of Croatian language and we expect that one day with future project volunteers came back and continue to work with the PI. Our wish is that after the successfull implementation of the project, volunteers assist PI in establishing a volunteer center and evetually continue to work as associates on the EVS project. The project aims is to raise the level of environmental and social awareness of the participants so that can continue with the same in their country of origin, and with the implementation of the project volunteers will gain work experience, improve communication skills, a sense of independence and self-initiative and improve teamwork skills. PI "Cave park Grabovača" expects that with this project will improve the quality of work by integrating new methods into everyday activities, creating a modern and dynamic working environment (new ideas and perspectives), the development of European co-raising skills to work in an international partnership and to raise the reputation and significance of the PI at the international level (better promotion). The implementation of the project will contribute to the fulfillment of the educational role of the PI.
