„ Kandavas Valsts lauksaimniecības tehnikuma Cīravas mācību punkta jauniešu prakse Eiropā"

Vocationial education competence centre "Kandava State technical school of agriculture", (now name of institution changed to "Kandava technical school of ") state funded vocational education provider within the Project “Kandavas Valsts lauksaimniecības tehnikuma Cīravas mācību punkta jauniešu prakse Eiropā” has helped to ensure vocational practice abroad for nineteen students studying qualification level 2 and 3 in Motor Transport, Agricultural Machinery, Catering service, Production the Articles Made of Wood and Administrative and Secretarial Service, in the same time promoting internationalization. There was 3 week (for people with special needs) and 5 weeks long (the rest participants) work placements implemented in Germany and United Kingdom within the project: 1st flow to Germany: - 9 participants in total (3 out of them are people with special needs); 2nd flow to United Kingdom: – 10 participants in total. Vocational training for both flows took place in spring 2016 and each flow had support and help of accompanying person available in the beginning of mobility. The placements in enterprises or companies of host country were directly linked to participants’ educational program. The main objective of the project was to strengthen and develop technical and personal skills, confidence and employability of participants, as well as to facilitate the entry of young people to the labour market. -There were following learning outcomes achieved through implementation this project:: • Acquisition and development of professional skills related to the sector of Motor Transport, Agricultural Machinery, and Catering service, Production the Articles Made of Wood and Administrative and Secretarial Service; • Improvement of communication in English as a vehicular language used in the field of Motor Transport, Agricultural Machinery, Catering service, Production the Articles Made of Wood and Administrative and Secretarial Service; • Development of social and intercultural skills through interacting with the mentor, clients, and staff; • Improvement of technical knowledge, verbal and written communication in a foreign language through its daily practice; • Increased adaptability, initiative and entrepreneurship due to a time spent living abroad independently. • Development of other general (team work, skills to study, ICT, problem solving, time planning) and career management (self-esteem, career exploration and creation of opportunities, planning, decision making) -The acquisition of skills was indicated through effective tutoring and mentoring, adequacy of the contents of training program tailored to the needs of participants, and periodic evaluations. All these outcomes and experience gained within project, which were evaluated and disseminated through questionnaires, interviews, Euro pass Mobility certificates, press releases and final result conferences, as well as different meetings- both on-line (Skype) and onsite- will enable participant’s improvement of well-being in future. Through participation in the project participants have obtained knowledges, skills and experience, which allows to be more confident and convinced of their abilities.The aim of the project matches EUROPE 2020 strategy and priorities: -Smart growth: developing an economy based on knowledge and innovation; - Inclusive growth: fostering a high-employment economy.
