The main goal of the project is to create an innovative method in French language teaching by the use of the traditional Japanese theatrical technique called Kamishibai and the use of ICT French is usually taught in Poland as a second foreign language and the dynamism of its teaching is threatened by the continuous domination of English. This is also true for Romania. Knowledge of French offers opportunities on the labour market and facilitates international communication (French is the mother tongue for over 80 M people; it is also an official language for many countries and international institutions). Kamishibai is a Japanese illustrated one man theatre. It is easy to organise and requires little equipment : the only decoration is a set of drawings which provides the background for the play; the illustrations are placed in a special box and then shown one by one in front of the audience by an actor telling the story. The use of Kamishibai during a lesson gives the opportunity to engage both pupils and teachers, to learn easily and in a different manner; at the same time it awakes the imagination and creativity ( necessity to create a screenplay, to prepare the pictures). Besides classic language learning, the pupils develop other kinds of skills: ability to interprete and present the text, to break ice, and enhance their self-confidence. The innovative aspect of this method is also based on multinational cooperation between pupils and teachers to reach its final form. The main goal of the project is to engage learners from France, Poland and Romania. Thanks to the cooperation during the transnational meetings and the networking, partners will create a common method that is well adapted to both the French language teaching programs and educational systems in different countries. In the same time free educational sources will be completed by a new working technique during lessons. The main target group of the project involves French language teachers and their students from Poland, France and Romania. The project is planned for two years, with 6 main actions, alternately with mobilities and networking. 1. Steering committee in Romania, October 2014. Working group, choice of the 3 steering committees 2. November 2014 – July 2015: cooperation in networking; comparative analysis of the educational systems, common teaching scenarios for lessons 3. July 2015: summer language camp in Olsztyn, Poland – intensive French learning for 50 pupils from Poland and Romania under the coordination of teachers and trainers from France; practical use of the Kamishibai method in teaching 4. October 2015: training course in France for teachers from Poland, Romania. Introduction of ICT. 5. November 2015 – April 2016: cooperation between schools in networking. Literary text analysis (Polish, French or Romanian) with a use of Kamishibai technique or ICT. 6. May 2016: Transnational meeting in France, Saint Brieuc. Forum to disseminate the results of common analysis of literary text involving all the participants of the project. Dissemination of the project results is planned on two levels: - Information among partners; each step will be showcased in the internal journal of CAWM association „Regards Croisés”. Creation of a blog by students and teachers. - External information: conveyed by media (local, regional and national); also by the institutional communication sources to promote three forums – conferences on the horizontal European priorities concerning multilingualism and investment in language teaching to meet the needs for new qualifications. We can evaluate project impacts on different levels: Impact on students: to increase confidence in front of the school as an institution, to prevent early dropping out of school, to improve basic knowledge, to fill learning gaps, to better integrate students in the educational system. Impact on teachers: - To increase professional dimension of teaching; Europass as an important tool in teachers’ careers - To use new educational sources and ICT at school - To give pupils the will to continue with Erasmus Plus programs and consolidate their experience Impact on participating organizations: - To increase the credibility before decision-making authorities in order to obtain the funds for the innovative teaching methods Quantitative impacts concerning participation in different actions and forums in the project: - To increase the number of learners who decide to choose French as a second foreign language and to take it to final exam level - To increase the number of articles about the project in local, regional and national press, impact on TV and radio - To influence the communication in social networks Short and long term impacts: development of multilateral cooperation: partners can use their project experience to prepare and work on other Erasmus Plus projects. Certainly these new projects should attract many different partners from European countries.
