It is one of the archetypes of world literature. The writer never fails to put on page one of the most evolutionarily significant moments of human existence: the conflict. Whether interior or exterior, the conflict is the cause of a series of events that mark the fate of the individual. Thus, in literature, the conflict is the source of inspiration for countless narratives. KEL - Kaleidoscopic European Literature has selected nine of the best books published in Europe in recent years to be translated for the Italian reading audience and expand the knowledge of them. From the heart of Europe to its extreme North, KEL rises like a film crane to achieve an overview of literary creativity throughout our continent. The conflict that KEL illustrates through nine stories is the journey of as many protagonists in search of their identity on the background of different ages, social and political situations. All these works, translated by praised and acclaimed Italian translators and boosted by an organic promotion and distribution plan, form KEL catalogue, a unique kaleidoscopic European literary portrait that is going to be presented in Italy through events, prestigious book fairs and major literary festivals and in the countries involved via their Italian Cultural Institutes or local embassies on the Italian territory.We find that raising the question of conflict, individual or collective, and the search for identity in a fragmentary psychological, social and political context, is very appropriate in Europe today, since it is facing new and continuing mutations and new challenges following the immigration from countries of the Middle East, South and Central Asia and North Africa which are in a state of war or political and civil instability, precisely countries in conflict, and we find it appropriate to do so through the pen of contemporary authors, voicing much of their individual feel as universal one.
