Käpylä Comprehensive School is a Comprehensive School of 7 to 16 years old students. The School has got two main focuses: Finnish-Spanish Bilingual Studies and Spanish as a foreign language Studies, which the school has been carrying out for six years. The School is the only Finnish-Spanish School in Finland. During the past years school has created funcional system how to provide bilingual studies. Teachers how ever need tools to inforce the quality of teaching in Spanish. The objectives of the project are: -teacher´s will have better skills using subject based vocabulary in Spanish. -teacher´s will develop their teaching methods based on the new national curriculum 2016 and create new type of materials learning environments, and tasks for pupils in Spanish. -teacher will provide material to different subject based on the linguistical convetions used in different subjects in Spanish, especially for teachers who are teaching in Spanish but aren´t native. -teachers will create a whole course named Latin American Studies to Secondary School The School will send in total four teachers, two Primary School teachers and two Secondary School teachers to participate in Jobshadowing. These teachers have a permanent position in the school and have been working with the bilingual studies from the beginning. They are very determined and focused on enhancing the spanish teaching in Käpylä Comprehensive School. The aim is to provide all the other staff members in School all the good tools that project has provided in different working groups. Parts of the project: -contact with the partner in another country, posible project between students -Jobshadowing in Spain (bilingual Studies) or in England (Spanish as a foreign language) -providing good results in Käpylä Comprehensive School and future development of quality in teaching, in personal capasities to use subject based language skills, and creating materials. -participation in complementing training
