Field of study cook and public catering: The objectives of the professional practice abroad are as follows: - Learn specific processing of typical traditional Italian dishes - The expected place of professional practise is located near the sea-side town Caorle, where every morning fresh ingredients, vegetables, seafood is delivered. From those fresh, mostly bio-materials are then prepared all the food in the restaurant. I tis one of the most progressive, innovative ways of cooking: food preparation from fresh organic ingredients. Our students, in the context of professional experience at this restaurant have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest technologies of food preparation, acquire original Italian recipes, typical of northern cuisine that but for our people appear mostly exotic. Students should have a unique opportunity to become acquainted with other environment, other people, cultures, other lifestyles, not least to gain indispensable, otherwise unattainable work experinence. - At the time of placement the students will communicate with the hotel staff exclusively in English. A three-week experience and expertise as well as social communication in foreign languages and foreign environment certainly significantly contribute to increasing the level of language skills of our students. - At the time of placement, the pupils will be able to improve their professional knowledge in the following subjects and thematic units: 1. Food and Nutrition – pupils compare the difference in quality meals from fresh ingredients and home use frozen materials based on their own sensory tests. 2. Technology and Training – technology of fish dishes, seafood, snails, amphibians. Meals of freshwater fish and animals, edible marine fish dishes of seafood. Technology of vegetarian diets. International gastronomy – Italian cuisine. The professiona practise itself has taken place at Hotel Minerva in the Italian spa town Caorle, which is situated in the north-west part of Italy near the Adriatic Sea not far from Venice. This picturesque sea-side town was founded in the 1st century and today is an important part of the local sea-side community with several hotels, pensions, restaurants and sight-seeing attractions. In the nearby lagoon there is situated a fisherman museum, which introduces us to the day-to-day life of medieval fishermans. Our pupils have gained an unforgettable cultural experience by visiting Venice (St. Marco Square, Palazzo Ducale, St. Marco Cathedral, Canale Grande, pictures and paintings of famous Venetian artists such as Tiziano and Giorgione etc.). The students also had the chance to visit a nearby town called Portogruaro. This beautiful town is also called „Little Florence“ by the locals. There is an old-fashioned fishmonger market and a museum with an exhibition of artefacts from The Roman Empire. Field of stude binding and flower arranging: - Improve the skills and habits in bouquets and arranging a variety of interiors. - The expected place of professional practise is located in Austria. Students here will be able to work in an enviroment that is very attractive both in terms of geographic and language. They will have access to such plant material which their school can provide a lesser amount due to financial issues (eg. Ecuadorian roses). They will learn trends in binding and arranging in the historic city of Central Europe, which largely contribute to shaping the aesthetics and to enrich them with new expertise. Students should have a unique opportunity to become acquented with other environment, other people, cultures, other lifestyles, not least to gain indispensable, otherwise unattainable work experience. - At the time of placement students will communicate with the staff exclusively in German. A three-week experience and expertise as well as social communication in foreign languages and foreign environment certainly significantly contribute to increasing the level of language skills of our students. - At the time of placement, the pupils will be able to improve their professional knowledge in the following subjects and thematic units: 1. Binding and flower arranging – types of bouquets – sided bouquet, frontal bouquets, arrangements in vases – ordering flowers indoors – group, individual, mobile design – flower decoration of interiors. 2. Practical training – casual, graphic, vertical, parallel, structural. Sale of flowers and arranging products. The interior decoration of living plants. The accommodation of the students was situated in Korneuburg, which is approximately 20 km west from Vienna. The professional practise itself took place in Korneuburg and Vienna. The students in their free time had the chance to explore cultural and historical monuments of one of the most beautiful cities of Central Europe. They visited the most attractive, interesting and famous turistic attractions such as Rathaus, Hofburg, The Sisi Museum, St. Stephen´s Cathedral, Prater etc.
