This long term EVS project takes place in the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde, Africa, in the hosting organisation Associação dos Amigos do Calhau. The youth association Rota Jovem from Portugal will send 4 EVS volunteers to its partner organisation to develop a project within the themes of Environment and Development Cooperation for 6 months. Volunteers will be engaged in activities to protect the environment and preserve wildlife (especially turtles and seabirds), environmental education and campaigns, educational and recreational activities for children and youngsters, events for the community, support to the communication field and daily run of the association and development projects. The project aims at offering rich learning, intercultural and self-developing experiences to volunteers and to improve the action of Associação dos Amigos do Calhau for the benefit of the community.
