The project „Jump in!” was a bilateral cooperation between the NGO “Plattform Generation Europa” from Austria and “East & West Center for Human Recourses Development” (WE Center) from Jordan. It was a long term European Voluntary Service (EVS) project in a partner country – Jordan. The objectives of the project where: • To encourage intercultural dialogue between youth in Europe and Middle East; • To develop cooperation between organizations from Middle East and Europe; • To promote youth political participation; • To enhance youth mobility in Austria by providing European Voluntary Service in another country; • To develop English skills for children in Palestinian refugee camp and poorer areas of Amman. The selected volunteer was a highly motivated young women - Johanna Damböck. She was a third-year undergraduate student of International Politics the university of Vienna. She did a long term EVS project. Her main tasks where to lead English lessons for kids in Palestinian refugee camps; to organize activities about youth political and social participation and to assist in project proposal development. She also wrote blog articles and promoted the Erasmus+ program in Jordan. Activities of the project helped to develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people and to foster social cohesion in the European Union and Middle East countries. The project contributed to fostering an exchange of experience between young people from the EU and Middle East countries.
