"Jovenes Juntos in Ecuador "is an EVS group project in the field of international cooperation and awareness-raising iniziatives, launched by ENGIM Ngo of Rome – Italy with the partnership of the "Congregation of San Josè" in Santo Domingo - Ecuador. Project will start on 1/03/2012 and will finish on 31/08/2013. Service in Ecuador will start on 1/07/2012 and finish 30/04/2013, The project entails the presence of 4 young volunteers; they will partecipate in the activities implemented in collaboration with the Children Centre, of Santo Domingo des Tsachilas where socio-educational and vocational training activities are run in order to improve the living conditions of the benficiaries; developing the participation of the underage and the prevention of deviance and social exclusion phenomena, with a focus on children at risk. EVS volunteers will be protagonists of the activities, being able to collaborate in the project creative stages. ENGIM will guarantee assistance to all the volunteers, through specific educational and practical activities, informal stages and meeting, the latter organized in order to support and give them the opportunity to discuss and to share their ideas. In this way EVS volunteers will become aware of the self-learning process which they will experience especially during the meetings and the exchanges with the others volunteers or with Ecuadorian people, developing creative and critical thinking encouraging their human, social, professional growth, the development of their active citizenship feeling, solidarity and tolerance. They will also have the opportunity to These acquired skills will be certified through the Youthpass, helping volunteers in their future careers once they will be back home.
