Journal Culturel Digital : l'innovation pour l'amélioration de la compétence communicative
Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 31 août 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The original concept comes from cooperation between the several languages taught in a school and aims to improve linguistic and communication skills. After an analysis of the needs, we agreed on a concrete and realistic objective which should build on a general, open and European environment in which the various partners could exchange and share their methods and “good practices” by using innovative and efficient tools. Our association has been developed thanks to e-twinning and has five members: primary or elementary educational centers. The profiles of the partners are very different and depend on their geographical location, the size of the educational centre, the school population and their experience with European projects. Two of them are located in an urban area (the coordinating school and the Greek school) whereas the three other schools come from a rural sector (the French, Italian and Rumanian centers). Moreover, some of the educational institutions are very big such as the Italian educational center which receives about 800 students whereas the French one only has 200. The social, cultural and economical environment is also highly varied: families from the Spanish school enjoy a relatively high standard of living while in Greece and France, the background is more modest. Finally, our association has two centers which have already an experience with European projects so they could help and orientate the other members. The idea behind our project is to elaborate a cultural diary of all the activities carried out that aims to improve oral and written linguistic and communication skills. The proposed activities are categorized depending on their complexity which evolves with the level of the students. To start the partnership, each educational center will make a presentation of itself and a competition will be organized to determine the logo for the project. To unify the project, all the classes will describe a national work of art. Then, all levels will realize an activity about textual classification: the riddle for cycle 1, the comic and self the description for cycle 2 and the redaction of a press article and a travel guide for cycle 3. Those fields of activity will get in the construction of a board game that will be proposed to partner schools during students’ exchanges. Each mobility trip will be realized in a different country and will enable students to discover the host city in a playful way and to put into practice the new linguistic skills at the same time. The methodology employed is based on the cooperation between the partner centers and the mutualisation of the pedagogies thanks to Skype and the platform e-twinning especially. Teachers will benefit from the strengths of all educational centers and will share their methods and experiences in order to get the best language teaching practices. The planned outcomes are: the elaboration of a cultural diary, the creation of a blog and the realization of a museum. These productions aim to improve the students’ communication skills, introduce new teaching methods, develop a European collaboration and build strong bonds between the partner centers in order to keep organizing exchanges when the funding of the project ends. This project will enable the students to develop an awareness of the multiculturalism of the world around them and to make more concrete the European citizenship. With this project and thanks to their interactions, teachers from the different centers will share methods and gain from each other’s experience. That way, they will bring a collaborative spirit to their establishment and will work toward a common goal. Moreover, families’ implication in the activities will open the project to a local community. In conclusion, in the long run, the expected benefits of this project are: a cultural openness to Europe for students, the possibility to maintain the relationships with the partners when the funding ends, the improvement of language teaching methods and the continuity of the member countries’ cooperation through the Information and communications technologies.
