The project is dealing with the maintenance, restoration and promotion of two of the important cultural-historical monuments of the common past of the trans-border region, which are located at the areas of Svilengrad and Didymoteicho municipalities, namely, two old Ottoman baths. The project is concerning, as well, to the promotion of the rich historical heritage, connected with those monuments and targeted to a sustainable development, based on cultural tourism.The main sub objectives are: (1) valorization of the monuments and the multiple significance they bear, (2) The exemplary implelentation of innovative initiatives on culture through the adaptation of the management of the monuments to the modern needs of the local economic development, local social organisation and cultural life (3) The encouragement of the trans-border exchange of knowledge and know-how, (4)The establishment of a permanent and fruitful partnership in the sphere of tourism, (5) The connection between various forms of culture as a means for tourist development (6) The impulse of the local market, especially the tourist branch. (7) The rehabilitation of the built environment on the banks of EVROS/MARITSA river, and its aesthetic environmental upgrading, (8) The attraction and sensitisation of young and socially vulnerable or disabled people.
