Joint information system for process optimization "One Health in the CBC area (Joint information system for process optimization "One Health” in the CBC area)
Date du début: 20 janv. 2013, Date de fin: 20 sept. 2014 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project will build a JIS for quick exchange of data between veterinary services and laboratories in CBC region. Information will cover 100% of control data gained from Pernik, Kyustendil, Sofia, Nišava, Pirot, Jablanica and Pčinja districts and will be used by other stakeholders. Veterinary services of both countries will be able to carry out permanent analysis of actual data, management of the risk of spreading animal diseases will increase its efficiency, which will lead to better human health protection and prevention from transmission of diseases of animal origin (directly or through contaminated food). Improved control will support the reduction of economic losses in case of disease. The JIS will provide information for quick identification of sites in risk which will be a subject of additional tests and subsequent increased control. Respective authorities will be able to review more accurately the strategies and prevention programs and plans. JIS will enable participation of all stakeholders to participate in planning and responding with appropriate joint action in disease situations. The EU buffer zone will increase concerning the control and management of epidemiological crises. The project will build a pilot model of CBC interaction mechanism for sharing important information and making critical decisions for preservation of the human and animal health as well as ensuring additional conditions for economic development in the region based on unified approach for control procedures and documents. Planned activities will support the overall efforts of the EU and the OIE to improve veterinary management and cooperation with public health authorities. The JIS will allow to reduce the negative impact of inaccurate information exchange, and also to increase the quality of the overall control .Data analysis in the longer period will provide statistically more correct information about trends of development and potential risks of zoonosis, including food-borne illness. Modern information technology will contribute to the improving the effectiveness of the respective control authorities through more accurate planning of activities (including, joint efforts) and to achieve closer cooperation in the daily management of the animal diseases risks.
