Joint Economic and Regional Development Strategy Along the Border (CROSSBORDER E-R-D STRATEGY)

Observation and evaluation of regional social, economic and environmental processes, determination of the directions of necessary deliberate intervention. Determination, harmonization and realization of short-, medium- and long-term comprehensive development purposes, concepts and measures in the frame of development programs, their operation in other sectorial decisions. Defining and effectualizing  the main directions and development strategic purposes of the regional development of the country and the different regions as well as the devices necessary for achieving these goals. Fitting into European configuration systems, more effective utilization of possibilities arising from integration, development of border regions, cross-border cooperation. Achievements: The two communities living side by side for centuries have always been tightly connected and are within the new context of European integration jointly searching for new ways and new solutions to ensure prosperity for the population of the border area. On the foundations of the 30-year-long cooperation of the cities of Slatina and Szigetvár, a joint economic and regional development strategy was elaborated, in fact a LEADER-based guidelines for the synergic development of both the urban centres and their rural surroundings.
