The project aimed the development of Doctoral Study Programmes in the field of Geography between the University of Oradea and University of Debrecen, by creating a Chair for supporting the Doctoral Studies School in Geography. The project intended to improve the quality of the Doctoral Programmes, increasing their European dimension and also the visibility of these programs at the European level. During 12 months efforts were focused on the development of the institutional collaboration frame between the two institutions. The joint cross -border Chair offered support for the PhD students from the two universities to participate in the project's activities, increasing this way interest and participation to the Doctoral Study Programs and also making them more attractive.The direct target group was represented by 20 PhD students, 10 from Hungary and 10 from Romania (50% men and 50% women), from the first year of their PhD Program. They were supported to participate at all activities of the project. Another 10 professors (5 from each university, 50% men and 50% women) and 10 researchers (5 from each university, (50% men and 50% women) were supported to participate in the following joint project activities: Workshop, Study visits and Summer School. The following categories represented the indirect beneficiaries: 20 University Professors (10 from Hungary and 10 from Romania, 50% men and 50% women), 40 Researchers (half from Hungary and the other half from Romania, 50% men and 50% women), 100 PhD Students (half from Hungary and the other half from Romania, 50% men and 50% women), 50 potential employers (about half from Hungary and the other half from Romania, 50% men and 50% women), 20 institutions, representing the Local and Regional Authorities (10 from each country) and finally, the general public from the Bihor and Hajdú-Bihar Counties.
