JoinEU-SEE - PENTA – EU & South Eastern Europe: Participating, Exchanging and Networking in a Transnational Alliance for Internationalization in Higher Education
Date du début: 15 juil. 2013,

JoinEU-SEE > PENTA is an international cooperation project which brings together 29 partners to jointly implement a large-scale academic scholarship scheme for fostering transnational exchange of know-how and expertise with the aim of internationalization in higher education. The project involves EU and Western Balkan partner institutions. The scholarship scheme offers opportunities for students at all levels as well as for post-doctoral fellows and university staff (academic and administrative) to add an international dimension to their educational and/or professional profile and to obtain further qualifications in their fields of study or work. Scholarships will be awarded following an application and selection process based on clear criteria within the partnership. The duration of the funded mobility ranges from one month for staff to the duration of a full master or doctorate programme. Experience gained in earlier project editions will be a sound foundation for all JoinEU-SEE > PENTA activities. The partnership aims at fostering a sustainable cooperation network supporting the development of a knowledge society and mutual understanding among all parties. The partners will work to enhance the academic and administrative cooperation between the participating institutions and reciprocal transfer of know-how and expertise for handling academic mobility. The overall objective of the action is to contribute to sustainable development and progress in higher education and to strengthen the management capacity of HEIs in the Western Balkans.Through academic mobility the partnership will encourage progress and reforms in the higher education landscape of the third-country region. The resulting internationalization in higher education will increase the attractiveness of the region as an educational destination. From a long-term perspective, project activities will therefore also contribute to the prevention of brain drain by introducing brain circulation.
