Jõhvi Gymnasium is an educational institution whose main aim is to enable for school-aged children to acquire elementary and secondary education, and school obligation execution. The school also organizes learning of students with educational special needs (intellectual, emotional and behavioral disorders) in Jõhvi Adolescent Treatment and Rehabilitation Center and in Viru Prison. The school makes a consistent effort to support students and prevents failure to complete compulsory schooling. The School has the following key areas of development: * Support the teachers professional development; * Taking more account of students' age, interests, and special needs; * A greater focus on developing creativity in students; * Increasing the motivation of students and staff; * More active involvement of parents. The aim of the mobility project is prevent school dropout. During mobility project five employees will participate in following trainings: “Stimulating Creativity through Cooperative Learning”, “Enhancing Students' Motivation through Inquiry- Based Learning”, „Children's Rights and Needs: Challenges to School, Family and Society“. The goals of the training events are providing opportunities for participants to improve their professional skills (eg motivating skills, teaching skills, collaboration skills, problem - solving skills etc), enhance their employability and gain cultural awareness. Main topics are: practical teaching techniques and methodologies; elaborating habits of mind that can last a lifetime and guide learning and creative thinking; understanding that learning becomes more attractive when something fascinates students and reflects their interests and goals; increasing overall students’ achievements; improving self – esteem of the students. Participants were selected based on the needs of the organization and employee development. Mobility project participants are: school psychologist, natural science and chemistry teacher, English teachers. Quality and management issues, as well as some of the practical and logistic matters of the project will be arranged by signing “Learning/Mobility Agreement”. The Agreement will define the target learning outcomes for the training period abroad, will specify the formal provisions (eg travel, accommodation, etc) and will list the rights and obligations of each party. Preparation: The prospective participants will receive a list of materials (studies, books, articles, etc) along with websites connected to the course content. Support information and detailed program will be provided. Via e-mail a questionnaire will be sent to the participants in order to indicate their professional requirements, interests and expectations related to the subject of the course. They will be asked to prepare short Power-Point Presentation, showing their institution and/or their own experience in the subject matter of the training event. Participants will receive Europass Mobility Certificate after the training. A mailing list of participants will be created after the course and they will be encouraged to remain in contact with the trainers and with their fellow participants, as long as to establish future partnerships and projects. Self-evaluation materials will be provided. At the end of the course the participants will accomplish a questionnaire in order to get a detailed feedback for the effectiveness of the training event. They will be asked to present an action agenda on the method of implementing the key learning points into their professional practice. A Facebook group will be formed for discussions and sharing of ideas and good practices after the workshop. The participants will be given the opportunity to transmit the knowledge and experience achieved to their colleagues and by this to assist in the dissemination of the leaning results and outcomes. Participants will share their knowledge and skills with colleagues at school. School psychologist will organize the training for parents. Participation in training is reflected in the school website and newsletter. The School recognizes employees who participated in training, shared their experience and developed the school. The project is monitored throughout the project. As a result of the training: workers' knowledge and skills will improve; self-confidence, motivation, quality of work and job satisfaction will increase. Other school employees receive encouragement and inspiration to participate in training courses abroad. Cooperation between School and parents will become more active and effective. Students are more motivated and more creative, their performance will improve. The atmosphere in the school is getting friendlier. In the long term the risk of early school leaving will decrease. As a result, the environment becomes safer (young people not engaged in crime), the problem of youth unemployment will reduce and the prospects for career planning will improve.
