JobTrotter
Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The main theme of our project JobTrotter is work and mobility in Europe and we have chosen to deal with the subject from various angles. In a general European framework, the theme "work and mobility" is at the core of a healthy European integration. Jobtrotter addresses the need for balancing supply and demand in the field of employment. Some areas in Europe face an economic crisis and a labour surplus whereas others, due to an ageing population, will have to call upon a foreign workforce to sustain a hitherto successful economy and maintain adequate social services. This is not Europe in the future but it is already the world our students live in, and we hope this project will contribute to help them move around in this environment Our first aim is to develop job searching skills and foster self-confidence when it comes to looking for employment in a foreign environment. We also want to consider the different historical contexts and cultural approaches to work across the countries involved in the project. - What is a good job? - What are the prevailing sources of employment in your region? - Where and why do new jobs emerge? - The modernization of jobs and its consequences on the employment structure. - Why do jobs leave a country/region? All along the project, we will lead students to work in international teams in various academic subjects ranging from foreign languages, art, information technology, mathematics, economics, history and geography.
