Job Orienteering

The project Job Orienteering JO! took place in Andrano, city in the South of the Apulia Region. The activities were implemented from 14 21 october 2014. The project involved 40 young people, members of youth organization, from Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, France, Romania, Spain, Malta and Poland. This project idea was developed for combating youth unemployment and for supporting the inclusive growth. The theme of the project was the presentation of opportunities that young people may find while they're building their career, helped by the opportunities offered by EU or their respective national governments, or thanks to the personal effort (education, preparation and ingenuity) and the experience developed with Volunteering. The main objective was to increase the awareness of young people to their personal life skills and to give them tools and instruments to propose them-selves in future occupational perspectives. The methodologies used for “JO!” met the requirements of the non-formal learning: the young participants knew the local realities that deal with creative strategies for the development of new work opportunities for young people: they were the main actors in order to know, test and make aware interests and ideas about the employement. Workshops and visits to local activities, assocations and organizations that developed new work idea for young people, icebreaking, team building and problem solving activities with related de-briefing, daily evaluation moments were the centre of the exchange that, finally, resulted as a constructive know-how sharing. Finally, thanks to the realization of a digtal guide to the Green Jobs the participants were involved in a process of transfer of knowledge by the virtual peer communication; thanks this final product was achieved the general objective of ERASMUS+ and was disseminate the results of the exchange by the young actors of JO! (creative way for develop new work against the unemployement and european action for support youth work mobility). Finally The youngsters become protagonists and messengers of Europe in a small reality, far from the main circuits, where people have different conceptions of youth employement but without a net-sharing of the knowledge.
