PROJET
TERMINÉ
In the frame of the European elections in May 2014, the Young European Federalists (JEF Europe) have been very active everywhere in Europe in order to inform citizens and explain why they should vote. The Young European Federalists conduct many activities directed to the youth: presentations in schools or apprentice training centers, conferences and information stands in universities, webzine in 4 languages etc. The Jeunes Européens France have been particularly active thanks to the European villages they have organized in many French cities from January to May 2014. These events aim at informing a large audience on the European elections in a festive atmosphere, in cooperation with other youth organizations and other sections of the Young European Federalists.
Despite our efforts to reach out to a larger audience, we notice that the majority of our volunteers and of our public consists of students. We would like to reach out to a less privileged youth by organizing new activities in order to speak about Europe in an innovative and fun way and to dicuss themes that really concern young people in Europe. For this training programme called "Youth, its our Europe", we identified the themes of sport and culture, and of economy and employment. Each of the seminars will gather 50 participants from France, Germany, Italy, Serbia and Azerbaidjan.
The first seminar will take place in Nantes from the 11th to the 14th september under the heading of "Europe of sport and popular culture: new source of European identity?". It will gather the most experienced volunteers of our local sections who will be able to participate in the debate around the functioning of our association and in workshops aiming at developing new educational activities for less privileged young people, including artistic and sport activities. We will also debate on proposals for youth with other youth organizations and we will debate them with European and local politicians.
The second seminar called "The economic challenges in Europe: how to create a positive horizon for young people?" will take place in Metz from the 14th to the 16th November. The participants will be selected among our new volunteers wishing to get more involved in the association. We will train them on the basic activities of the JE France and on economic issues that are complex subjects our volunteers have difficuties to talk about. We will also organize round tables open to the public on youth unemployment.
A team of volunteers from each partner organization will organize the activities and the training. Volunteers in civic service will organize the logistic with volunteers at the local level.
These trainings will contribute to involving new volunteers in the association, improving the quality of our activities, developping new activities to reach out to less privileged and less informed young people. The participants will acquire knowledge on the theme of the seminar that will help them counter eurosceptics arguments. The will be able to explain the methodes they have learnt and reproduce the activities they have conducted during the seminar in their local sections, which will be a mean to broaden the know-how at local level. Furthermore, the implementation in practice of the learnings through street actions and presentations in a schools will allow us to inform the inhabitants of Nantes and Metz. It will favour the dissemination of the newly developped methods within the local sections all around Europe.
