Jardin d'Europe is a European project dedicated to the emerging European contemporary dance scene that sees its role in terms of structuring the dance field and its related art forms. The on-going strong social, professional and artistic changes in this art field make innovative approaches and new models necessary for relevant support for the artists and the dance players, and for the strengthening of the whole dance sector. Jardin d'Europe sets up a wide range of cutting-edge activities based on quality support of the dance players and centred on crucial functions in dance: creative education for dance makers, young critics and dance teachers, co-productions of dance pieces, residencies for research projects and capacity building in dance management. Furthermore it initiated the Prix Jardin d'Europe for young choreographers, endowed with 10.000 Euros, to give more visibility to upcoming artists and to contribute to a wider recognition of Contemporary dance as an art form.
