The purpose of the project is teacher training of four general upper-secondary teachers. The aims are to acquire new theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field of ICT to improve and update their teaching methods, to familiarize with the current trends in teaching and learning foreign languages and cultures of the target language, to get to know the education systems of the host country and the countries of origin of other participants, to raise the awareness of how important it is to include the intercultural dimension in lessons, to improve the communicative skills in English and other foreign languages, and to disseminate and implement the results in their institution. It is expected that the teaching will be improved by implementing innovative approaches in the fields of methodologies and didactics, including the use of different online tools and applications which represent the apps;added value' to our teaching practice. Moreover, the participants are expected acquire new knowledge and skills in using tablets while preparing for lessons, as well as during the teaching and learning process. Teacher training is expected to enhance the participants' self-image, to help them broaden their knowledge of education in the EU and to strengthen the importance of life-long learning. The diissemination of the results has affected (and is expected to do so in future) other teachers at our school - the use of new knowledge and skills, the wish to take part in EU projects, raising the awareness of the importance of improving the language and digital competences - and likewise on students. Long-term effects will be definitely be present since teachers, who are also motivators of their colleagues and students, are becoming more competent educators.
