Working at school as a teacher increase demand for the new knowledges. For development of cognition it is necessary to make regular interaction between consultative and pupil, therefore for intellectual development it isn't enough, that a person was born in the definite culture environment. In that way, to acquire new knowledges in the different environment, in the different quality, acquirers will be we - participants and our pupils. For attending courses, school manager had chosen a team which consisted of 6 teachers who are class managers, support persons, school administration, elementary teachers.
The aim of course was to provide teachers with
* a range of new ideas, practical classroom skills and materials for teaching pupils with learning difficulties.
* an opportunity to improve participants language skills and to acquire language for classroom
* an insight into Special Education in Britain
* an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop links with teachers from other European countries
* cultural background to life in Britain.
International Study Programmes has 30 years experience in organizing courses for Teachers of English on behalf of European Ministries of Education and In-service Teacher Training Institutes, International Study Programmes team of teacher trainers include higly respected trainers such as Gaham Wokman, Lucy Norris and Dr Diana Hicks.
We had an opportunity to meet and speak with people who have the same problems to teach pupils with learning difficulties.
At the end of courses we could make our school's development plan more suitable for pupils with learning difficulties than before. On our return we will keep a record of how we have been able to provide ideas gained on the course in our classrooms. We will be ready to share our ideas with our colleagues all over our region.
Theoretical knowledges we can acquire in Latvia but to get immediate view in the professional of a high quality practical activities can only in courses in the foreign countries.
