Background / history of the project : The action type of the program is " Staff mobility schooling ." The sending organization is Meniko Primary School. It is a small school in a rural area which is about 25 miles from the center of Nicosia . Students attending at our school are 62 , distributed in 6 sections of which the A grade with the B grade and Ε grade with the F grade are combined into one class in some courses . Τhe school has 9 teachers from whom seven work every day and two teachers and specialists are at our school 2 times a week . In an effort to foster a culture of innovation among its members and to promote modern pedagogical school participates in initiatives with a European dimension , our school has joined Open Discovery Space (ODS). The participation of the school in the mobility project Erasmus + is aligned with the priorities and needs of the school : the continuous professional development of teachers , the culture of school innovation ( focusing on the use of ICT for the organization of teaching and learning ) , the mobilization of all stakeholders , including parents of students . Objectives of the project : We try to give those opportunities to our students by which they will acquire attitudes, skills and knowledge necessary for them to be future citizens ready to deal with the changes around them in a spirit of democracy , collaboration , creativity . Based on this and the development plan of our school the purpose of our program is to support innovative school and train teachers to help our school become a community of open learning . Specifically, our participation in this program , will help our teachers to receive training that will promote school innovation and implement modern teaching methods combined with ICT in the classroom. The teachers will become change agents to support change within the school as required in a community that is constantly evolving, while realizing the value of lifelong learning for professional development. Number and profile of participants : It involved two teachers who have strong motivation and commitment to channel their experiences to the other teachers of the school . Their interests converge with the theme of the project and they are already members on the platform of ODS. Description of activities : 1 ) preparation, which includes activities such as preparatory reading lists and the creation of the profile of the school 2 ) training program will include presentations from real experiences , lectures , interviews , teamwork , observations and activities aimed at stimulating innovation and 3) monitor activities such as the implementation of a personalized strategy that will help teachers to innovate in their schools Methodology during the project: Teachers will participate in actual learning activities and implement innovative practices in their classrooms . Also, teachers will collect as researchers , analyze and interpret data about their practice and the learning of their students. Expecting the following results : Our teachers will be trained appropriately to bring about innovations in the school to improve the education provided to students . Also , to increase the understanding on how the use of technology can facilitate innovation , both at school level as well as at the individual teacher level. The potential long-term benefits The development of a clear strategy that helps the school to innovate and to develop as a learning community in which other interested parties such as parents are actively involved . The establishment of a network with teachers from European countries , to share ideas and successful practices , a pan-European network of teachers that will bring change.
