Introducing SEPA in Europe and the Ludwig-Erhard-Schule
Date du début: 1 juil. 2015, Date de fin: 30 juin 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Ludwig-Erhard-Schule Sigmaringen is a school for vocational education for economy. With about 850 pupils and around 60 teachers we are a rather medium-sized school which is situated in a rural area in the south of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. There are small and medium-sized enterprises in this region and the apprentices of these companies are taught the theoretical contents of their apprenticeship at our school. In our project ten apprentices will get the opportunity to make this work-experience. The apprentices are doing an apprenticeship as a bank clark or as an industrial management assistant. In the second half of their training they will do their work experience abroad. The intention of this project is to give these apprentices the opportunity to get to know the world of work of a foreign country. Apart from that, they should also get to know the people of our neighbour, the UK. This can only be realised while doing a work experience in the UK. To be able to realise all this in a sensible way we could manage to win Tellus Group in Plymouth as our partner. The apprentices will accomplish a work experience for the duration of four weeks. Their will be on-site introductory lessons at the Tellus Group location before the apprentices will go to different companies to make their experience in the world of work. The objective of this project is to give the apprentices the chance to get international experience and, thus, better qualifications. Apart from the fact that this stay in the foreign country helps to develop foreign language skills it also really helps to develop personal skills. Staying in a foreign country and working in a company which is unknown while having to speak a foreign language really demands quite some courage of a person. Once a young person has managed to pass such a stay sucessfully he or she will have a completely new self-confidence. As a consequence, they will have the effect that the person has a conduct which is entirely strengthened. This also helps the companies as their staff are better qualified to deal with partners or customers. These employees may also be more qualified to find good solutions in different situations. Furthermore, learning on-site how the same work is completed in different countries helps to ease international business relations. Possible misunderstandings can be eliminated if people know how the others think. This fact is also of importance for small-and-medium sized companies which we mostly have in our rather rural region. In a world which constantly gets more and more together it is also vital for smaller companies to get an international orientation to be able to compete with other companies world-wide.
