Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The learning outcomes and quality standards for teachers defined both in the development plan of Tallinn School No 21 and the letter of commitment for Elos Schools foresee consistent progress in professional growth and European and international orientation of the teaching staff. The given project "International In-Service Training Programme for 2014-2016", designed for a period of 24 months, includes 5 international in-service training events in the UK and Italy as well as job shadowing and teaching assignments for 2 class and subject teachers at the partner school of the 3rd Primary School of Zografou in Athens, Greece. The 6 members of the teaching staff included in the in-service training events are full-time lower and upper-secondary school teachers of English and history, operating also as project coordinators on different school levels. The project is carried by the need to pursue the teachers' purposeful professional learning with particular attention to such internationally valid areas as the English language, history, cultural awareness, modern technology and IT skills and project based learning. The carefully short-listed teacher training courses offer a well balanced schooling both in the newest theoretical developments and practical workshops of teaching methodology. The planned training events will result in the participants' improved and up-dated command of a foreign language essential for conducting contemporary CLIL lessons and continuing or launching new international projects with schools across Europe. The chosen training events also include a course that will enable the project coordinators to strengthen their theoretical base and enhance their practical skills for successful management of international projects. This multidimensional project also foresees job shadowing combined with teaching assignments in a primary school in Greece. In addition to improved personal professional competences and social and cultural awareness, this training event will enable to introduce European dimension to the day-to-day teaching and learning environment on the primary school level already. The project will be closely monitored by the in-service training project coordinator and the school management. Regular preparatory meetings with the trainees will be scheduled together with deadlines for evaluation and feedback reports. School's IT team has been assigned to lend their comprehensive technical support and advice for maintaining the smooth organization of any part of the training project. "Educators for Educators" has long been an integral part of the in-service training module in Tallinn School No 21. The skills and competences acquired through the above-mentioned training events will systematically be shared at the school's quarterly in-service workshops. In order to ensure easy access to all theoretical and practical information, presentations and handouts will be uploaded on school's Intranet and on teachers' blogs. Participating in international training events will enable to make contacts with educators with common objectives and start new, reliable partnerships for all school levels throughout Europe and thus further develop the European and international dimension in the education provided in Tallinn School No 21.
