TERMINÉ
The LdV-mobility projects of the FSP2 (state-approved training college for educators) are guided by the motto "learning with each other and from one another“. From February to July 2015, 18 of the FSP2’s prospective educators complete their five-month internship as part of their training as state-approved educators in socio-pedagogical institutions in European countries outside Germany.
As a preparatory measure that aims to provide an introduction to high quality standards of the pedagogical work, the Interclass will participate in a three-week learn and working stay in Sweden from 31.08 -18.09.2015.
As an educational institution we pursue an individual and target-group oriented preparation, implementation as well as follow-up of the mobility projects. For participants who could not yet experience long-term stays abroad this three-week learn and working stay in Sweden offers a gradual introduction to the following five-month internship which the participants will carry out on their own in a European country other than Germany. The particular benefit of the preparatory stay in Sweden lies in the exemplary realisation of a mobility project including relevant planning and follow-up processes. Furthermore, whilst sitting in as teams on one of the partner institutions during the three weeks, the participants will be introduced to high quality standards of both the pedagogical work as well as the practical training. These experiences can then function as organisational and subject-related guidance for the five-month internship. During the first of the three weeks of the learn and working stay the participants will be supervised and supported by two teachers. For the second and third week supervision will be provided in the form of email as well as a contact person on site. Having completed the preparatory learn and working stay in Sweden the students will start their five-month internship in a European country outside Germany in February 2016.
Preparation, follow-up and completion of the internship as well as the interns’ individual supervision will be provided on site by an interculturally competent team, consisting of 8 teachers of the FSP2 and one external professional. The FSP2 mobility project management will be constantly in touch with the project partners in European countries outside Germany and organizes the internships abroad and intercultural encounters in conjunction with them.
The FSP2 mobility projects mainly focus on enhancing the participants’ competence, in particular self-competence, social skills and professional expertise which will be achieved through the experience of unfamiliar living and working conditions in the educational work in European countries outside Germany. The participants will be confronted with different concepts and methods of education and are challenged to socially, professionally, interculturally and linguistically deal with the daily routine abroad. Overcoming this challenge will considerably contribute to the participants’ professionalization and personal development. The professional knowledge and experiences gained during the stay abroad will provide a foundation for new impulses in the educational work in Germany and support the transfer of reform strategies and innovative approaches.
Furthermore, their experience of foreignness will enable the participants to relate to the situation of migrants in Germany, thus, increase their tolerance towards unfamiliar sets of values. It can be stated that the mobility projects contribute to the reduction of prejudices and discrimination and thereby allow a broader understanding of diversity.
In addition to the above mentioned content-related objectives of the mobility projects, the FSP2 aspires a continuous development of these projects. Regular evaluations by both the participants and the partner institutions as well as through cooperation with other providers of mobility projects in Hamburg will contribute to the quality assurance and enhancement of the projects. Furthermore, the school community will be informed about the work results by means of presentations.
In summary, it can be stated that the past LdV- and VETPRO-mobility projects have contributed to the intercultural openness of the FSP2. Today, intercultural exchanges, encounters, projects, advanced training as well as a multi-culturally orientated school culture fit naturally into everyday school life. Both the integration of mobility projects into the training program and their enhanced accessibility to students form the focus of the FSP2’s future development and international openness and will be publicly demonstrated through the school’s guiding principles.
