Interfaces, The Art of Science (Interfaces)
Date du début: 1 mai 2013, Date de fin: 30 nov. 2013 PROJET  TERMINÉ

“INTERFACES, the Art of Science” will highlight Dusseldorf as a European capital of science, art and culture.INTERFACES symbolises the link between science and society, research and art, technology and design, tradition and vision. There is a high potential for innovation at the interface between science and art that is vital for the progress of science and society. INTERFACES will show that innovative solutions of current and future problems, such as demographic change, energy development or motivation of young people for a scientific career can only be found by understanding the interaction between science, society, culture and art. INTERFACES will show fascinating scientific results and developments created in cooperation between scientists from multiple disciplines, different faculties and universities in Dusseldorf.During INTERFACES, the city centre will be transformed into one enormous science laboratory highlighting the role of the researchers. The programme offers a colourful mix of experiments, presentations, interactive installations and games, panel discussions and performances and will attract a wide audience from all age groups. Several representative buildings and institutions will host scientific and artistic presentations, thus allowing visitors to experience research directly and in unusual venues not always accessible to the public. For the first time in Dusseldorf, Researchers’ Night will be organised by three public higher education institutes: The University of Applied Sciences (FHD), Heinrich Heine University (UDUS) and Robert Schuman School of Music and Media (RSH), supported by the Art Academy and the City of Dusseldorf. Thanks to the different but complementary nature of the partners, INTERFACES is interdisciplinary and brings together scientists from media technology to natural sciences, from medical sciences to art activities. INTERFACES will be the start of an annually ongoing event in the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia.
