This project is developed in the city of Lisbon, in the Intercultural and Citizenship Centre of Soidariedade imigrante. It’s an individual EVS, for a long term service of 12 months, to be carry out by one volunteer; with two partners involved, from Italy and Portugal.The main themes for the project and activities are intercultural and social active participation, and anti-discrimination plus arts and culture. The project promote the respect for the social and culture diversity, improve the intercultural dialog, promote active citizenship, develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people.There are three activities in the project: “initiative and social participation” who intent to involve the immigrant community and other young people in the activities; “conscience” in the promotion of debates, showing documentaries related to the objectives of the project and “arts and culture” in the develop of events to show the diversity of the immigrants community (through the music, plastic arts, theatre, dance, video, photography, culinary art, etc…). The methods used in the implementation of the activities are based in the no-formal education and intercultural education, using participated methodologies.
